Silent Night
Help us be there for everyone with hearing loss, from their first silent night
For many, Silent Night is a symbol of Christmas – a peaceful carol that conjures up sounds and images of people coming together to celebrate, surrounded by presents and festive cheer.
But for millions affected by hearing loss, Christmas and the idea of a silent night can be starkly different.
Exhausting social gatherings. The constant struggle to keep up with conversation among background hustle and bustle. It can make people with hearing loss feel isolated, withdrawn and disconnected from the world around them.
Going to bed unable to hear vital noises like the shouts of a loved one, or a life-saving smoke alarm, can mean facing a night of fear. So many people have described being too scared to sleep. Scared of a silent night.
With your support, no one has to face their first silent night alone. Together, we can ease the fear and help people affected by hearing loss rebuild connection, companionship and confidence this Christmas.

Can you help transform silent nights for a deaf person like David?
“As I lost my hearing, silence came to mean anxiety and loneliness. Even horror, sometimes. Silent nights were so dark.
It was my audiologist who suggested I speak to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
That was the turning point for me. For the first time ever, I met people who really understood deafness.”
